Yamaguchi Kahoru

Born on 26 May 1950. Three months after her birth Kakoru fell ill with cerebral palsy. This illness has resulted in severe dysfunction of all four extremities and trunk. At the age of ten she made the first attempts at painting. Initially, she painted with her mouth and took classes at an art institute for more than 16 years. Some years ago she lost her teeth. She also had problems with her mandibular joint and cervical spine. This made it impossible for her to continue painting with her mouth. Kakoru therefore began to paint with her foot. She has had several solo exhibitions.
