Letisha Wexstten was born on 27 September 1986 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born with several birth defects, among them a club foot involving the left foot and an abnormally curved thigh bone. She also had no arms. That is why she learned to do things with her feet as a child and always found a way to do the things she wanted. At the age of 12 she moved with her family to Jordan, where her relatives are originally from. Due to the language barrier Letisha Shelton withdrew from the world and developed her drawing skills. On account of her great drawing talent her parents sent Letisha, then still a girl, back to her grandmother in the USA, where she received regular drawing and painting lessons and was able to develop her talent. Besides conventional painting, the artist also does graphic design and architectural design of buildings.
