Thiago Henrique Freitas da Silva

Thiago Henrique Freitas da Silva was born on 22 May 1987 in Rio de Janeiro. After completing his school education, he became a soldier in the air force, was always active and enjoyed sports such as running, cycling, and bodyboard surfing. On 2 March 2008, he fractured the C4 and C5 vertebrae when jumping into shallow water, with the spinal cord being completely severed in the cervical spine area, resulting in severe tetraplegia. He received treatment with various therapies in two different hospitals. Thiago Henrique Freitas da Silva lives with his parents, who devote themselves to his care. By chance, he met Jefferson Maia (Scholarship Holder) at a lecture. Inspired by his work, Thiago Henrique Freitas da Silva himself began mouth painting in 2024. His first attempts were praised by other artists, and he subsequently developed a growing interest in art. This became a source of strength and self-realization for him.
