Socorro Alba Luz Pérez

Born on 26 March 1968 in Tapachula. At the age of 14 she fell ill with rheumatoid arthritis. Due to the dramatic course of the disease she can no longer use arms or legs. As she is living in a town in the mountains she has no opportunity to get therapy or medical care and thus depends on the help of her neighbours. To pass the time she began to paint and draw using her mouth and rapidly made unbelievable progress.
