Romero María de los Ángeles Pérez

María de los Ángeles Romero Pérez was born on 5 July 1954 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. At the age of 1½ years she fell ill with poliomyelitis, which mainly affected her arms and legs. The mobility of her arms returned slowly but not completely. In addition to the already existing condition she was diagnosed with arthritis and osteoporosis five years ago, and she is therefore no longer able to move her fingers. Motivated by Lidia Cháidez (mouth painter and Student Member of VDMFK) she started to paint with her mouth. She takes regular painting lessons with Ms Cháidez. Painting has given the artist a new purpose in life.
