Reyes Itzel Angelica Cota

Itzel Angélica was born on 22 February 1994 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. Since earliest childhood the artist suffers from a genetic neuromuscular disorder that causes her to be severely disabled. As a result she suffers from muscle weakness of the trunk and upper and lower limbs, neuromuscular scoliosis of the thoracic and lumbar spine as well as hyperlordosis of the lumbar spine. That was why she started to carry out diverse activities with her mouth at an early age. In September 2010 Itzel Angélica made the first attempts at painting with the mouth and discovered that the artistic talent she had shown until then could be further consolidated. Since January 2011 she has been taking regular painting lessons with VDMFK artist Lidia de Jesús Cháidez López (student member/mouth painter). She attends classes with enthusiasm and is doing very well.
