Stjepan Perkovic was born on 1 April 1974 in Vitez, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with congenital cerebral palsy. He completed primary and middle school in Zagreb. In 1992, he began to paint and to write to express the spirit that moved him within. In 1998, he published a collection of poems with the title ‘Otisci dubine’ (impressions of depth), which he also illustrated. He has illustrated seven books by other authors – six volumes of poetry and the cover of a novel.

From 2001, Stjepan Perkovic was supported by the Association as a Scholarship Holder. In 2007, he completed his studies in Painting at the Arts Academy in Split. He subsequently participated in a three-year painting workshop under the leadership of Professor Carmelo Puzzolo. Stjepan Perkovic is a participant in many art workshops and has also led art therapy workshops for children with developmental disabilities. Stjepan Perkovic frequently organises art workshops for children in nurseries, primary and secondary schools. Since 2025, he has been an Associate Member of the VDMFK.

Stjepan Perkovic predominantly paints landscapes and cityscapes as well as animals of his homeland. For this purpose, he primarily uses acrylics.
