Patino Restrepo

Paola Andrea Patiño Restrepo was born without arms on 8 August 1976 in Itagüí, Antioquia. Her parents entrusted her to the care of her grandparents, who lovingly looked after her and her older sister Mónica. From an early age, her grandparents supported her independence and motor skills with great commitment. She only began her schooling at the age of 15 and completed both primary and secondary education. Later, she took drawing lessons, participated in exhibitions and created a mural. After several years, she turned to paralympic swimming and became a national swimming champion. At the age of 29, she became the mother of a daughter. Paola Andrea Patiño Restrepo lives a secluded life and enjoys spending time by herself. Art, music and quiet moments accompany her everyday life.
