Merlo Franca

Franca Merlo was born in Treviso on 6 June 1961. She completed primary and secondary school as well as teacher training college. In 1984, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which gradually left all her limbs paralysed (spastic quadriplegia). In September 2010 she began to paint with her mouth on her own initiative. Slowly but surely she managed to achieve considerable progress. Franca particularly enjoys painting flowers and animal motifs.
