Anna Marecka was born on 30 January 1988 without arms and with one shortened leg in Konin, Poland.
She learned to use her feet just as any other baby would use its hands.
When Anna was around seven years old her parents decided that it was time to avail themselves of comprehensive medical treatment. At the age of eight, Anna came to the USA with her mother to undergo an operation to lengthen her leg. The process was long and painful, but the results were worth it. In 2001 they won the green card lottery. Further operations followed.
At the age of 20 Anna Marecka unexpectedly became a mother. The first year was difficulty, but as her son became bigger they learned how to work as a team and help each other.
Her art started as a child when she painted her toenails and drew designs on them. Later she started painting rocks, and when she noticed how much happiness her art gave her she started experimenting with watercolours.
As a self-taught artist, there are still so many things she would like to learn.
Anna hopes to inspire her son and other people to find happiness in the little things of life.
