Mandalapalli Srilekha

Srilekha Mandalapalli was born on 8 June 1982 in Hyderabad, India. She has suffered from arthrogryposis multiplex congenita since birth, and therefore cannot use her arms or legs. She has secondary school and middle school certificates and a bachelor of trade. She completed the latter at the University of Kakatiya, Khammam, in June 2003. In 2005, she started to paint various materials with her mouth. Since 2007, she has dedicated herself to oil painting, as well. Once a week she receives private painting lessons from the well known artist Uddandam Kotheswar Rao. The mouth painter enjoys a high level of recognition in her region. Her exhibitions always attract a great deal of interest from the public. The media have also reported on the artist many a time.
