Malik Anjona

Anjona Malik was born on 1 January 1986 without arms and a paralysed leg in Uttar Pradesh. Since she came from a poor family, she was not able to continue education after primary school education, and with only one leg she had no chance of finding work. Eventually, she became a beggar, and started writing God’s name with her right foot on a sheet of paper. An American artist found out about Anjona Malik and encouraged her to paint with her mouth. After basic training with the artist, she eagerly continued to educate herself. Her painting is very varied, and her repertoire includes Indian deities, plants, animals and landscapes. Many well-known magazines have done reports on Anjona Malik.
