From birth Lénaic Léger has no arms, the right foot is joined to the thigh and the left foot is not fully developed.  Even before she started primary school, Lénaic painted with her left foot. She taught herself the technique of painting. In February 1987 she began to take painting lessons, which boosted her artistic talent. She became a student member of VDMFK in 1988 and an associate member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists in 2009.

Lénaic Léger paints using different media but predominantly oils and watercolours. The artist's preferred themes are flowers, but she also does landscapes and animals. A speciality of the foot painter is the theme of coastal landscapes of Normandy created as highly expressive rocky landscapes in combination with lighthouses, cloud formations and flower fields. These paintings very clearly show her fondness for details.
