Jose Wilmer Horta Cocoma

José Wilmer Horta Cocoma was born on 11 September 1995 in Rovira, Tolima. As the son of farmers, he grew up in poor circumstances, worked with his parents in the fields and for lack of financial means, he only learned to read and write.
At the age of 21, he became a spastic quadriplegic as a result of a gunshot wound.
For his recovery, José Wilmer moved to the city of Ibagué, Tolima. In 2021, he met Alcidez García Giraldo (VDMFK Scholarship Holder), who told him about the Association. This motivated him to tackle his life project of mouth painting. Jose Horta began a course with the teacher Carlos Parra Duarte.
