Huerta Juana Teresa Huerta

Juana Teresa Huerta Huerta was born on 29 January 1973 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. As a young girl she developed the first symptoms of muscular dystrophy. At the beginning it only affected her legs but while she was studying at university (she graduated in law from the university in Guadalajara and has been working as a lawyer since then), the disease started to affect her arms and hands. Nevertheless, she did not let the circumstances deter her and she is currently studying "University administration and politics". In the future she wants to have a say in public administration and remove all barriers and obstacles for the disabled through new measures. Since 2006 - the year she started as a mouth painting artist - Ms Huerta has been receiving regular tuition from Ismael Ibarra Martínez (mouth painter and Student Member of VDMFK). Due to her indomitable will and industriousness the mouth painter is making steady artistic progress.
