Born in Santafé de Bogotá on 18 May 1950. In 1982 he was hit by a rifle bullet which injured his 4th cervical vertebra. His arms and legs have since been paralysed. The artist first began to paint with his mouth in September 1997. He is an autodidact. His native country is his favourite source of motifs.
