Heiron Joseph was born on 30 November 1978 in Springbok, Northern Cape, but grew up in a mining town, Nababeep, outside Springbok. After leaving school, he went to North Natal where he studied engineering. After his studies, Heiron Joseph started working as a process expert. On 1 January 2005, he had a diving accident in Paternoster on the West Coast that paralysed him from the neck down. A few years later, he took up mouth painting after being introduced to it by his occupational therapist at the Western Cape Rehabilation Centre.
His preferred medium is water-soluble oil on canvas. Having spent many years on the west coast, Heiron has a great fondness for fishing villages or seascapes in general. He draws his inspiration from satisfied customers. He moved to the Durbanville Quad Centre in September 2020.
