Nancy Hall was born on 7 July 1969 in Buffalo, New York. On 21 May 2000 she had a tragic motorcycle accident that resulted in tetraplegia (C3-4). In 2002, out of despair and frustration, Nancy Hall started to use her mouth to hold a pen or pencil in order to help her then still small children with their homework and to write her signature. Encouraged by her children, she made the first attempts at creating paintings with her mouth, using different methods. She taught herself to paint with the mouth. The mouth painter's favourite subjects are flowers and abstract themes done in watercolour. The artist was able to present her artwork on the occasion of several arts and crafts exhibitions.
