Frutos Álvarez Marta de

Marta de Frutos Álvarez was born on 21 July 1971 in Madrid. In August 1996 she suffered a spinal cord injury, C5 ASIA A, in a traffic accident. That is why she is unable to use her arms and legs. In 2001 the qualified social worker for the first time tried to paint with the mouth as a way to pass the time and after several attempts took a liking to it. Since that time the mouth painter has been taking lessons with the well-known artist María Carrascosa Fernández at the "Foundation for spinal cord injuries" in Madrid. The artist has had the opportunity to present her artwork to the public in the course of different exhibitions in Madrid.
