Diego Alejandro Pinzón Lozano

Diego Alejandro Pinzón Lozano was born on 30 December 1985 in Ibague-Tolima, Colombia. At the age of 19, he became a quadriplegic as a result of a gunshot wound in a street battle. For Diego, it was very difficult to accept the reality of his new life and he became depressed.
Years later, he came into contact with Cristian Humberto VASQUEZ CASILIMAS (VDMFK Scholarship Holder) through social networks. With his support, he discovered a path to art.
Since 2022, Diego Pinzón has been painting with his mouth, and taking painting lessons with Carlos Parra, a sculptor in the city. During this learning process, he has not only recognised that there are no boundaries, but in painting he has also found a means of distraction that not only helps him to improve himself, but also to forget, for a moment, some of the problems that accompany life with quadriplegia.
Diego Alejandro Pinzón Lozano lives together with his mother and one of his three children in the city of Ibagué in the Department of Tolima (Colombia).
