You-Cheng Chou was born on 22 May 1968. In 1993 he was injured in an accident, leaving him permanently paralysed from the neck down. During his recovery at the Tzu Chi Hospital he was introduced to the  AMFPA artist Kun Shan Hsieh, who teaches mouthpainting at the hospital. Chou became greatly interested in painting and he strives to perfect his skills.
