Castillo Alexander

Alexander Castillo was born on 21 June 1973 in Cali, Colombia. He is the father of a 30-year-old son and the grandfather of a 7-year-old granddaughter. Due to financial difficulties, he was only able to attend school up to the sixth grade and began working at the age of 15. At the age of 19, he became self-employed. In 1997, he sustained a severe spinal cord injury (tetraplegia C5–C6) in a motorcycle accident and has since been paralysed from the neck down. Despite everything, he found a new way forward. In 2023, through playing chess, he met David Dagua Sierra (Scholarship Holder), who drew his attention to the Association and an art course. Alexander Castillo has already taken part in two painting workshops.
