Cagnola Emmanuela

Emmanuela Cagnola was born without arms on 23 April 1970 in Kitgum, Uganda. She was adopted in childhood by the Cagnola family and has since lived in Pettenasco on Lake Orta. After graduating from the Cozzano linguistic upper secondary school, she completed a one-year regional fashion diploma in Alessandria. She subsequently studied fashion design at Polimoda in Florence, where she completed a three-year postgraduate programme. Her works are characterised by African influences and are distinguished by an independent style. In addition to fashion, she has always been interested in painting. She attended courses on the development of clothing prototypes directly on mannequins as well as various workshops in creative painting. In addition, she completed a degree in philosophy and communication at the University of Vercelli.
