Alvarez Rojas Maria Paz

Maria Paz Alvarez Rojas was born with arthrogryposis on 14 September 1961. This disease affects the muscles and bones of the extremities. Since her childhood she has learned to manage by using her mouth, and her mouth is like her hands for her. She paints, writes and eats with it, and with the help of a stylus she can also use her computer and mobile phone. Since 1992 she has belonged to a theatre group and has been involved in more than 20 works. In 1989, with the help of a non-handicapped friend who gave painting lessons, Maria Paz Alvarez Rojas started painting. In 1991 she painted her first pictures.
