At the 2025 painting workshop of the German Mouth and Foot Painters in Regensburg, seven artists embarked on a creative journey of discovery into the world of abstraction. Led by artist and art instructor Tanja Riebel, the goal was to break free from classical models and gain new perspectives through experimentation with colors and forms.
The participants, including Thomas Kahlau, Antje Kratz, Markus Kostka, Selma Aman, Dirk Bennewitz, Waldemar Merz, and Werner Mittelbach, exchanged ideas and experienced a week full of creative challenges and collaborative work. Tanja Riebel demonstrated how reducing forms and colors can intensify the mood of a painting and open up new possibilities for expression.
The workshop provided a safe space for diverse works: from intense still lifes to abstract landscapes and impressive animal depictions. The participants bravely explored new paths, departing from their usual painting techniques and finding their own way into abstraction.
