Mouth Painter Brandur Bjarnason KARLSSON “Visible near and far

Brandur Bjarnason KARLSSON, mouth painter from Iceland presents his works from 23 rd  October to 11th  November at Reykjavik City Hall.

It is part of an art festival called “List án landamæra”, which means “art without borders”. The aim of the festival is to highlight artists with disabilities or limitations and to show that their work is an important part of the art world.

The artist’s theme is called “Visible, near and far” and refers to how visibility can bring things closer. A common experience of Brandur when meeting non disabled people was that they did not know how to deal with him. So he went on trips and talked to people to give them the opportunity to feel comfortable when talking to a disabled person. His travels have taken him to the most remote places in Iceland.
