The short film “Muros da Vida” by filmmaker Zoran Djordjevic has received several international documentary film awards.
The film shows the life and art of the artist Marcos dos Santos, who was born in São José dos Campos (Brazil). The artist was born with cerebral palsy and has been painting with his left foot since he was a child. He enjoys teaching young people from the Campo dos Alemães neighborhood in São José dos Campos how to express themselves through drawing and painting.
The short documentary accompanies the artist’s process, whose illness did not prevent him from developing and improving his talent for painting. Today he is a professional artist, is married, has 3 children, is a grandfather and is affiliated with the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists.
Marcos uses several techniques. He paints with a brush, spatula or screen print, but also creates street art graffiti. His project to beautify the neighborhood walls is a significant contribution to the upgrading of the neglected neighborhood and contributes to cultural diversity.
