Taborda Barrera

Fabian Alberto Taborda Barrera was born on 14 June 1986 in Yolombó, Antioquia, as the youngest of six siblings. He grew up in a family of modest means and began working at the age of eight in order to support his mother. He attended school up to the seventh grade. At the age of 24, a serious accident changed his life: as a result of a headfirst dive into a swimming pool, he sustained a spinal cord injury at C4–C5, which led to tetraplegia. Despite this challenge, with the support of his wife and motivating companions, he found his way to mouth painting. Since 2024, he has devoted himself to art with dedication. Painting with his mouth became for him not only a form of creative expression, but also a path to personal development and hope.
