Marija Obrovački

Marija Obrovački was born on 23 May 1970 in Novi Sad. 6 months after her birth she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She attended the elementary school in Novi Sad. Marija lived with her parents and regularly attended rehabilitation facilities. In 2009 Marija Obrovački started to use the services of a personal assistant, who assisted her in developing and becoming independent. Marija is one of the founders of the “Living Upright” centre, which offers personal assistance services for people with disabilities. In 2013 she moved into her own apartment in Novi Sad.
At the age of 51 she enrolled at secondary school.
In 2021 she began to paint with her mouth.
