Maria Kozdra was born on 19 December 2011 with a severe heart defect and had to undergo several life-saving operations in the first months of her life. Due to severe complications, both of her arms and the toes of her right foot had to be amputated. Despite these blows of fate, she developed a remarkable joy in life and learned to play, write and paint with her feet. Through encounters with artists who paint with their mouth and feet, she discovered her passion for art. Even after a stroke and further health setbacks, she fought her way back with great determination and continued her artistic education. Today, she regularly takes part in art competitions, has won numerous prizes and appears at events as a young foot painter.
