Hamid Fakir

Fakir Hamid was born on 3 August 1981 in Beni Mellal, Morocco. Since his childhood, he has been confronted with the challenge of living without upper limbs. This, however, did not limit his passion for art. He learned to paint with his mouth and foot, which enabled him to express his feelings and experiences in a unique way. In Morocco, there were no schools or painting courses for people with his condition, so he acquired his artistic skills as a self-taught artist. In 2020, Fakir Hamid made the decision to emigrate to Spain in search of better opportunities. In Barcelona, he submitted an application for asylum. He had the opportunity to take part in several art exhibitions. With his art, Fakir Hamid wishes to inspire others and show that, despite all difficulties, it is possible to find a path to expression and connection.
