Due to the current limitations of the Corona theme, Kunstverlag Au has invited to the first online artist workshop from 10 to 15 November 2020. The guiding ideas “Now and then a little courage” provided the thematic framework. Under the direction of the artist Edith Tarantino, the scholarship holders Bracha Fischel, Lea Otter and Antoine Leisi, as well as full member Lars Höllerer, took part in the workshop. (Fig 3)
Edith Tarantino illustrated the realization of a painting with different phases of creation according to the template „Malerwinkel Ramsau in Berchtesgaden „(Fig1). Based on these explanations, the artists implemented the knowledge gained step by step, with questions being answered by the course instructor. Already at the end of the first day of the course, remarkable results were visible. Edith Tarantino discussed each individual painting together, with suggestions and practical ideas at the center of the exchange. During the final discussions, the mouth painters received impressive and praising compliments for the pictures they had created in a short time (Fig 5)
In summary, the first online workshop has shown that this is a possibility to create diverse training opportunities for our artists. Very important practical insights have been gained to support the artistic development of the mouth and foot painters and for future online seminars of that kind.
