This year’s Royal Queensland Show – also known as Ekka – was a resounding success, attracting the highest number of visitors in many years. Hundreds of thousands flocked to Brisbane in August to experience the long-standing exhibition, which has been a significant part of Queensland’s cultural life since 1876.
A particular highlight was once again the participation of the mouth and foot painting artists, who were well received by the audience with their impressive artistry, charisma, and openness.
The artists Grant Sharman, Patricia Jackson, and Grant Philip were on site on various days, presenting their work live and answering questions from visitors. The interactions with the public were very well received and made the exhibition a place of inspiration, inclusion, and artistic diversity.
