Sebastião Batista de Jesus

Sebastião Batista de Jesus, born 21 January 1971, has been paraplegic since 1994, when he had a serious accident during a football match at the age of 24. As a result of the injuries, he can neither sit nor move independently and is severely restricted in his arm and hand function. After the death of his parents and two sisters, he has lived alone since 2019 and relies on the support of relatives, friends and donations from his community to cover his health and everyday needs. Despite his difficult life circumstances, Sebastião was given the opportunity to begin painting in November 2023 through a friend, who is a member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists. This new activity provides him not only with a distraction, but also with important motivation to improve his quality of life.
