Leandros Arvanitakis was born in 1959 in Nicosia (Cyprus). After finishing secondary school he studied marine architecture and technology at the state university in Athens and graduated in 1983. He also studied music at the music conservatory in Athens and, among other things, participated in many concerts. As Leandros Arvanitakis had always been interested in painting he attended an 1 ½-year-long painting and drawing course at an art studio and prepared for the entrance examinations to the School of Fine Arts in Athens. One month before the examinations he was involved in a traffic accident which left him tetraplegic. His passion for art motivated him to begin painting in 1998, using a special headpiece at the start. Since February 2000 he has been painting with the mouth and is constantly working on new pieces.
