He suffers from cerebral palsy since birth, what makes him impossible to use his limbs. He is only able to move his head. In 1997 he first tried to paint holding the brush in his mouth. He is self-taught painting and it has become his life's passion. Since being abandoned by his parents at 5 years old, he has lived in different institutions spread across the Spanish territory, but currently resides in the Center of Attention to Physical Disabled People in Pozoblanco (Córdoba). What he likes to paint and pictures he most like to see in detail are landscapes such as waterfalls and mountains, that is, everything that symbolizes freedom. Of Indian origin, José Antonio signs his paintings with the nickname "Tatanka", which means buffalo.
