Florence BUNN

Date of decease: 07.05.2007
Painting Method: Mouth painter

Short Biography

Florence Bunn had been working as a mathematics teacher for 13 years when she had to give up this profession due to multiple sclerosis. She lost the use of her arms and legs and became bound to the wheelchair. It was in this period that she discovered mouth painting, which became her new passion and finally her new career. In 1983 she was granted a scholarship by the Association. Five years later she was accepted as full member of the Association.

Florence Bunn prefers painting flower motifs. One might define the works of the mouth painter as flower fantasies. In her flower arrangements she mobilizes all the possibilities of bold colour contrasts and silent harmony. She prefers rich tempera colours, which she uses in such a masterly fashion that they intensify each other. Florence Bunn also loves painting landscapes, still lives or animals in tempera technique. Her hobby is china painting and she has already presented China works to the public at exhibitions in Great Britain and in other countries. In 1991 a book about Florence Bunn was published with the title "Canvases of Courage".

Florence Bunn died on 7 May 2007.
