Cécile VICHON
Painting Method: Mouth painter
Short Biography
New Scholarship Holder Cécile suffers from cerebral palsy, which was caused by an accident at her birth in Orsay (Essonne) on 28th April 1988. She is completely dependent on the help of others and can only communicate with her eyes. Despite her disability, Cécile loves life: one only has to see her smile to understand everything. With her smile, she enchants everyone and gets them to play with her. It’s her favourite pastime! She loves being surrounded by people, when everything around her is in motion. If you ask her whether she’d like to bake a cake (preferably chocolate), play or go for a walk, she never says “No”. Until this year, her world was limited to these joys. But recently, life surprised her with two wonderful gifts! The first gift came last winter: two new friends helped her to discover an unexpected activity, which now fills her with so much enthusiasm that it is a real joy. Serge Maudet, her big-hearted godfather, and Marie-Christine, her dynamic teacher, helped her to take her first steps in the world of mouth painting. But what a challenge it is when you can only hold the blasted brush between your teeth! Nonetheless, Cécile is doing well and asking for more! The results are very encouraging and her first pictures already delight the eye. The second gift was a special bicycle for Cécile, which has long been her mother’s dream and has been keeping the family on the go since June. Now Cécile can also explore the roads of France.
