Christophe MAILLARD

Short Biography

Christophe Maillard was born in Evreux on 7th February 1962. An accident resulted in tetraplegia. At present, he lives in the “L’Hospitalet” home in Montoire. He got the idea of painting by mouth after seeing other people doing it. For Christophe painting is first and foremost a means of expression through which he can convey his moods and perhaps open a door to his inner life for those around him. “There’s nowhere I feel really rooted, except inside myself - in that inner kingdom where I unfold myself,” is a saying that lies especially close to his heart. Rural landscapes where he leads a walker around a bend in the path, are favourite motifs. Often, his works open onto fathomless depths. He is very critical of his own work and he works a great deal, guided and supported in his efforts by his older brothers and sisters. He is a friendly and strong-willed young man, with great zest for life and the desire to make the most of all the happiness which life has to offer.
Christophe also has other hobbies besides painting: he is interested in computers, travelling and music. We wish him a fulfilling artistic career and much happiness.
