Rogelio ROBLES TORRES

Short Biography

I was born on November 12, 1983 in San Lorenzo, Tlacoyucan, Milpa Alta, Federal District, Mexico.

Up until the age of 16 my life was as normal as any other.  But on May 27, 2001, I suffered an accident and wounded my cervicals resulting in a state of total paralysis of my body.

Four months later I was taken to the National Center for Rehabilitation (CNR) were I met Mirna my therapist, who helped me realize that I could write and paint with my mouth. I later met Juan González Cervantes who taught me how to paint with the mouth.

Juan González was a scholarship grantee of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists.  When he considered that I was ready to submit my application for a scholarship to the Association, he invited me to do so.

I have been a scholarship grantee of the Association since 2006 and my therapist, Mirna, is now my wife. She is my companion and helps me to move forward in life.
