Short Biography

Rosmarie Weber suddenly contracted polio when she was five years old. The doctor immediately admitted her to hospital, where she was in coma for about three months. In the years that followed she stayed in hospital several times and underwent operations on her spinal chord. She spent her school years at a children's home. In 1986 she started a painting and drawing course and immediately found pleasure in this activity. She says: "Painting for me is escaping from my captured body and enjoying the freedom I can not live otherwise." It was already one year later that she received a scholarship from the Association. In 1992 she was accepted as an associate member of the Association and in 1998 she was granted full membership.

Rosmarie Weber's favourite subjects are animals, flowers and portraits. She uses primarily watercolours. She has had the opportunity to show her works to the public at various group exhibitions in Switzerland and in other countries. In painting she has found a field for self-fulfilment.
