Short Biography

Małgorzata Pauspert was born in 1983 in Rabka. Since birth she has had no hands. According to the doctors, this is the fault of genetics. She has been living in Krakow for a year, having started to study easel painting at Krakowska Wyższa Szkoła im. Andzreja Frycza Modrzewskiego (The Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University College). She paints with her feet and her favourite motifs are people and nature. She likes most to transfer her themes onto canvas with oils. Apart from painting, she also has a passion for singing; she has taken part in young people’s song festivals. In addition, she likes listening to music and meeting her friends and, during moments of inspiration, she also writes verse.

She has cooperated with the ‘Amun’ Publishing House since 2004.

I paint because I enjoy it, but at the same time, I’m well aware that other people may not like everything I might want to paint. The colours I use are rather dark in tone and, more often than not, they reflect the darker side of the psyche we all possess. It’s easier for me to express this because I’ve also always been interested in both psychology and parapsychology. Every person has a dual nature and every one of them is just as interesting and deep as the next, which is why it’s worth revealing. So I try to create work which contains at least a particle of that. It makes it deeper in what it’s saying and richer in content.

Painting is a way of life but, first and foremost, it should be a pleasure and come from the heart, so that the artist can both draw on that joy and share it with others.
